Hino Soma, a kind-hearted university student, encounters Kunidama, a cat-like being who can walk and talk like a human, at his family home. Kunidama, believing Soma’s older brother Susumu is their destined partner, is heartbroken to learn Susumu is already married. Moved by Kunidama’s tears and desire to become human through true love, Soma impulsively proposes marriage, offering to be their partner instead. The two begin a quirky, heartfelt married life as Kunidama adjusts to human customs and Soma balances his studies and part-time job. Their daily interactions, filled with Kunidama’s earnest attempts to please Soma and Soma’s gentle support, lay the foundation for a tender, mutual bond.
