Ame notices that Umi, a classmate from his old middle school, has started appearing in the hallway after skipping classes. Umi keeps her head down and hides behind polite smiles even when she comes to school. Worried about her, Ame reaches out and tries to speak with her. Their connection grows inside a high school brass band setting. Small encounters begin to draw Umi out of isolation.
