Arisu Yamabuki, a high school sophomore, has been haunted by the memory of "Apollo," a mysterious radio host whose voice once brought him solace during lonely nights. Nanako Yukishiro, a shy high school girl, communicates solely through senryū poems written on tanzaku. At a Christmas senryū gathering, she meets Eiji Busujima, a kind-hearted ex-delinquent who intimidates others with his appearance. Both join their school’s literature club, where Nanako’s concise poems express her growing feelings for Eiji. Eiji, inspired by Nanako, begins crafting his own senryū, deepening their bond. Their daily interactions, filled with poetic exchanges, navigate school life and budding emotions alongside quirky club members.
