Akimi lives with her mother on a scenic island in the Seto Inland Sea. Her family life is strained because of her father's affair and her mother's unhappiness. A transfer student named Kai comes to the island with his free-spirited mother. Akimi and Kai become friends after his arrival. Their early connection forms against a backdrop of family wounds and island life.
