O-no-Otsū, a young girl with the rare "Heaven’s Eye" ability to see mystical visions, first encounters the formidable warlord Oda Nobunaga, whom she perceives as a black dragon, during her childhood in Japan’s Sengoku period. Her family relocates to Azuchi, where her sharp intellect and charm earn her Nobunaga’s favor, allowing her to frequent his castle. As she navigates the turbulent war-torn era, Otsū’s visions reveal ominous signs, including a dark shadow looming behind Nobunaga. After a pivotal event forces her and her mother to flee to Kyoto, she seeks refuge with the influential Kujō family. There, her talents in poetry and dye-making begin to shine, setting the stage for her emergence as a remarkable figure amidst the era’s chaos.
