Mikiko Amamiya, nicknamed Mikkī, is a sixth-grade girl who frequently transfers schools and has grown detached, avoiding deep friendships due to inevitable goodbyes. At her new school, she encounters Nekota, a mysterious classmate whose face appears to her as a cat’s, though others see him as a handsome boy. Intrigued, Mikkī tries various tactics to uncover Nekota’s true face, but her curiosity only deepens as the mystery persists. Nekota, kind and charismatic, protects Mikkī from bullying, sparking a cautious bond between them. Their interactions, filled with playful attempts to solve the enigma of his appearance, set the stage for Mikkī’s gradual openness to connection.
