High school freshman Makoto Okazaki leads a mundane, unhappy life filled with minor bullying and being used as an errand boy by classmates. One night, a mysterious girl attacks him from above his apartment and bites his neck, forcing him to choose between dying or becoming like her. After the incident, he notices strange changes in himself, including an intense thirst triggered by the sight of blood and unusual physical abilities. He struggles with these emerging urges while trying to maintain his ordinary daily routine. The mysterious girl, who calls herself Nora, reappears in his life amid his growing confusion and isolation.
