Chocotan, a miniature dachshund, gains the ability to speak human language after eating a mysterious plant. She shares a close bond with her owner, Nao, a teenage girl with a crush on a boy named Arima, whom they meet daily during dog walks at the park. Chocotan uses her newfound speech to support Nao’s budding romance, offering encouragement and advice. During their walks, they encounter a dog sitting alone under a cherry tree, and Chocotan learns it’s waiting for its owner. Through her interactions, Chocotan helps foster connections, like befriending a timid dog named Happy, who was previously mistreated.
