In a quiet countryside town with little more than a supermarket and endless rice fields, fifth-grader Mai Igarashi lives a simple life with her father. One day, she finds a mysterious, disheveled high school girl collapsed in front of their home—a beautiful but hopelessly lazy and socially awkward runaway named Tamaki. Unable to ignore her, Mai takes Tamaki in, cooking hearty meals to "tame" her new "big sister" and help her regain her footing. As Mai's nurturing dishes bring warmth to Tamaki's life, the two form an unlikely bond, blending caregiving with companionship in a tale of found family and culinary comfort.
