Houtarou Oreki, a high school freshman who prefers a low-effort lifestyle, reluctantly joins the Classic Literature Club at Kamiyama High School due to his sister’s insistence. There, he meets Eru Chitanda, a curious and energetic girl whose inquisitiveness draws him into solving a mystery about a locked clubroom. Along with friends Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara, they investigate a puzzling library book borrowing pattern. Eru’s personal request leads them to explore a 33-year-old incident tied to her uncle and the club’s past. The group’s efforts uncover hidden truths through careful deduction, blending everyday school life with intriguing puzzles.
