Norimichi is a first-year high school student who is bullied. His one joy is making elaborate lunch boxes in the evening. His father rejects the cute lunches and tells him to stop doing girly things. Norimichi is crushed until he gives a rejected lunch to the unsociable Umemiya at school. Her delight gives him a new reason to keep cooking.
