Kagome Higurashi, an ordinary high school girl, is pulled into a well at her family's shrine and transported to feudal Japan, where she discovers she is the reincarnation of Kikyo, a priestess tasked with protecting the Sacred Jewel. When the jewel shatters, Kagome teams up with Inuyasha, a brash half-demon with a tragic past, to recover its fragments before they fall into the wrong hands. Joined by a colorful cast of allies—including the fox-demon Shippo, the monk Miroku, and the demon-slayer Sango—they face powerful enemies, unravel ancient mysteries, and confront their own personal struggles.
