Shiharu Nakamura, a high school girl living in an orphanage, works part-time at a daycare where she cares for two-year-old twins, Akane and Aoi Matsunaga. Seiji Matsunaga, the twins’ uncle and a busy TV announcer, notices their strong attachment to Shiharu and hires her as their babysitter, offering double her daycare wages. Shiharu, who dreams of running her own daycare, accepts the job to support her expenses and gain experience. She grows close to the twins, relying on memories of her mother’s kindness to guide her caregiving. The daily interactions between Shiharu, the twins, and Seiji build a warm, makeshift family dynamic.

Aoi and Akane Matsunaga, now fifth graders, live with their grandparents on their late mother's side and their father, who had previously abandoned them. The twins navigate new experiences and challenges as they grow, relying on the lessons of kindness and care they learned from Shiharu Nakamura, their former babysitter. Aoi, more reserved, and Akane, outgoing and energetic, face everyday school life and friendships while cherishing their bond as siblings. They encounter moments that test their independence, such as making new friends and handling small responsibilities. Through these events, the twins hold onto Shiharu’s teachings, finding happiness in life’s simple joys.
