Shinichi Chiaki is a music student who dreams of studying abroad and becoming a conductor. His fear of flying keeps him from pursuing that path. Frustration grows as classmates move toward the future he wants. He then meets Megumi Noda, a brilliant but disorderly pianist. Her way of playing reminds him to enjoy music where he is.
