In the mystical landscape of ancient Kyoto, where tsukumogami—spirits that inhabit old objects—roam, two lives intertwine in an unusual cohabitation story. Hyoma Kunato, a young man from a family of exorcists known as Saenome, harbors a deep-seated hatred for these spirits after they took his siblings from him. His mission is to send these creatures back to their world. However, his grandfather, concerned about his grandson's vengeful path, sends him to live with Botan Nagatsuki, a girl who considers tsukumogami as part of her family. Botan, with her gentle nature, lives with several tsukumogami, each with their own personality and history. As Hyoma navigates this new communal life, he must confront his prejudices, learn to understand these spirits, and perhaps find peace or even love amidst the supernatural.
