In the sleepy countryside village of Asahigaoka, where the nearest bookstore is miles away, life moves at a gentle pace for the students of the tiny branch school. In a quiet forest on the outskirts of town, lives Ookami-chan, a kind and hardworking wolf girl who spends her days with her animal friends. Though feared by the townsfolk as a fierce and terrifying wolf, Ookami-chan is anything but—she's gentle, earnest, and always eager to help. As she patrols the forest, makes new friends, and navigates her daily adventures, the little woods are filled with warmth and laughter.

High school student Haru lives a quiet, solitary life until a visit to a remote shrine changes everything. There, he meets Tamamo, a cheerful and caring fox-eared girl who claims to be a deity, determined to repay Haru for his kindness. As Tamamo moves in and starts looking after him, their unlikely companionship brings warmth and laughter to Haru's days. But living with a supernatural being isn't without its challenges, and Haru soon finds himself navigating the quirks of their unique bond.
