Kyohei Kuga, a university student who has left behind the closed-off village of Kukuri to live in Tokyo, seeks a normal life away from the eerie traditions of his hometown. His peaceful existence is shattered when his younger sister, Utao, arrives with a "Kakashi," an ancient, god-like doll that Kyohei once controlled. Utao informs him that his childhood friend Aki, now a fugitive from Kukuri, is causing chaos with his own Kakashi. Drawn back into the world he tried to escape, Kyohei must confront his past, the mystical powers of the Kakashi, and the complex relationships of his youth. The story weaves together elements of folklore, action, and personal drama, as Kyohei navigates the fine line between the ordinary world and the supernatural, exploring themes of family, loyalty, and the weight of one's heritage.
