Overworked and stressed, middle-aged salaryman Sasaki finds solace in two simple pleasures: smoking a cigarette and the cheerful customer service of Yamada, a friendly cashier at his local supermarket. One late night, after a long day at work, Sasaki heads to the store seeking Yamada's familiar smile, only to find her absent. Disheartened and unable to smoke in most public spaces, he encounters a mysterious woman named Tayama, who invites him to the smoking area behind the supermarket. What begins as a chance meeting soon turns into a series of quiet, meaningful conversations in their shared refuge.
