Series by 大久保篤

At the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA), young students train to become Meisters and wield their unique Weapon partners—humans who can transform into deadly weapons—in a world where souls are both power and prey. Maka Albarn, a determined Meister, and her scythe partner, Soul Eater, are on a mission to collect 99 evil human souls and one witch soul to turn Soul into a Death Scythe, a weapon worthy of the Grim Reaper himself. Joined by their eccentric classmates, including the perfectionist Death the Kid and the fiery Black☆Star, they face bizarre enemies, unravel mysteries, and confront the growing threat of madness.

Shinra Kusakabe, known as the "Devil's Footprints" for his ability to ignite his feet, joins the Special Fire Force Company 8 with a dual purpose: to fight the mysterious Infernals, humans who spontaneously combust into flame beings, and to uncover the truth behind his family's tragic past. Alongside him is the quirky Arthur Boyle, who wields a sword of light and sees himself as a knight, adding both humor and complexity to their team. They are part of a diverse group at Company 8, including the stoic captain Obi, the enigmatic Maki Oze with her flame manipulation, and the insightful Tamaki Kotatsu, whose powers are both a blessing and a curse. Together, they not only combat the Infernals but also delve into a web of conspiracies that threaten the very fabric of their society.

Welcome to the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA), a legendary school where humans with the power to transform into weapons and their wielders, known as meisters, train to protect the world—or simply to control their unique abilities. Unlike the elite warriors of the EAT class, the students of the NOT (Normally Overcome Target) class focus on mastering their powers to avoid becoming a threat to themselves and others. Enter Tsugumi Harudori, a shy halberd-transforming girl who arrives at DWMA and quickly forms bonds with two potential meisters: the cheerful Meme Tatane and the refined Anya Hepburn. As Tsugumi struggles to choose her partner and navigate academy life, the trio uncovers mysteries, faces quirky challenges, and learns the true meaning of friendship in a world where danger lurks.
