Aura Gouhara is a skilled scout for the Yokohama Bay Golds professional baseball club. He searches amateur fields for players whose talent others overlook. His goal each draft year is to find the player who will become the strongest pick of the class. A newer scout, Ryosuke Kamiki, learns the job while being pulled into Gouhara's methods. Their work shows baseball from the side of evaluation, bargaining, and uncertain futures.
