Hiro, Hideo, and Noda were a dominant middle school baseball trio. Hiro and Noda stop playing after a doctor warns them that continuing could cause serious injuries. They enter a high school without an official baseball team while Hideo attends a powerhouse school. An informal fan club and a match against the soccer team draw Hiro back toward the sport. Baseball and first love become tangled around old friends and new goals.
