Hana Ichinose misses her high school entrance exams after catching the mumps. She moves into her cousin's apartment building and starts school a year later than planned. The change leaves her shy and very aware that she is older than her classmates. At school she quickly falls in with Eiko, Kamuri, and Tamate. She enjoys her new friendships while trying to hide her delayed start.
