A sixteen-year-old girl loses the father who raised her alone after his death is reported as a car accident. Doubting that explanation, she searches his belongings and finds a warning about a symbol of two intertwined snakes. She travels to Tokyo to stay with relatives connected to her father. A mysterious motorcyclist follows her, and a student at her new school wears a pendant with the same symbol. With help from a friend of that student, she begins trying to uncover what the symbol means.
