Asagiri High's baseball club has reached the prefectural tournament's best eight. The principal hires Jun Kitajo to push the team toward Koshien. Kitajo once won at Koshien as a player and coached a regular contender before resigning after trouble. His harsh training clashes with captain Kentaro Kano and the rest of the team. The players and coach grow through conflict as they chase the national stage.
