Ranma Saotome, a teenage martial artist, and his father Genma have trained in China, but a mishap at the cursed springs of Jusenkyo leaves them with a peculiar problem: cold water transforms Ranma into a girl and Genma into a panda, with hot water reversing the change. Returning to Japan, Ranma is thrust into an arranged engagement with Akane Tendo, a fiery martial artist who isn't thrilled about the match. As Ranma navigates school life, rivalries, and a growing cast of eccentric characters—each with their own quirks and agendas—his quest for a cure is constantly derailed by chaos and comedy.
