Mai is a first-year middle school student who loves fashion and knows many ways to help girls look cute. Soon after entering school, she meets Ririmu, who is being mocked for her body type. Mai uses beauty knowledge and confidence tips to help classmates change how they see themselves. Her everyday life also includes cooking, living with her mother, and spending time with Kai, a boy from the same apartment building. The early chapters mix makeover lessons with Mai's efforts to close the distance between herself and Kai.
