A weak high school baseball club gains a new female manager with no playing experience. She insists that Koshien should be treated as a goal rather than a dream. She appoints batting-practice pitcher Natsuo Unabara as the team's cleanup hitter and pitcher. She also schedules a practice game against the previous year's runner-up school. The relaxed club is pushed into sudden pressure and change.
